Mega Prince Varun Tej has been struggling to find success recently, with his latest films not resonating with audiences. However, he’s now placing all his hopes on his first PAN-Indian film, Matka. Directed by Karuna Kumar, known for the critically acclaimed Palasa 1978, the period action film is gearing up for release on November 14.
Interestingly, Varun Tej will be clashing with Suriya’s highly anticipated film Kanguva, also set for the same release date. To make a strong impression, the makers of Matka have planned a grand promotional campaign, starting with the Matka teaser release on October 5th at G3 theatres in Vijayawada. If the teaser can capture the audience’s attention, it could set the stage for a strong opening.
The film stars the stunning Meenakshi Chaudhary as the female lead, while Bollywood sensation Nora Fatehi plays a significant role. With an impressive budget, producers Dr. Vijender Reddy Teegala and Rajani Thalluri have recreated Vizag’s nostalgic charm from a different era through elaborate sets built at Ramoji Film City.
Actors Naveen Chandra, Ajay Ghosh, Kannada Kishore, Ravindra Vijay, and P. Ravi Shankar are part of the cast, with G.V. Prakash Kumar handling the music. Now, all eyes are on the Matka teaser release to see if the film can win over audiences across the country.

Nagarjuna Reacted on Konda Surekha’s Remarks: Files Defamation Case
Telugu actor Nagarjuna Akkineni has filed a criminal and defamation case against Telangana Congress Minister Konda Surekha in the Nampally court. This legal action comes after the Minister’s recent controversial remarks about Samantha and Naga Chaitanya’s divorce. Naga Chaitanya shared a copy of the complaint on X.
In the complaint, Nagarjuna accused Konda Surekha of intentionally making these statements to damage the Akkineni family’s public image. The case includes charges of criminal defamation, which may lead to legal consequences, along with a civil defamation suit seeking financial compensation for the harm caused.
Konda Surekha’s remarks sparked a major controversy after she accused BRS leader KTR of being linked to drug-related parties and suggested his involvement in Naga Chaitanya and Samantha’s divorce. During a public event, she made derogatory comments about KTR, the Akkineni family, and Samantha, even alleging that KTR had asked for sexual favors from the Akkineni family before demolishing their N-convention center. She further claimed that this led to the couple’s divorce.
Earlier, Nagarjuna reacted on Konda Surekha’s remarks, calling them “irrelevant and false.” He strongly condemned the Minister’s statements and urged her to respect people’s privacy. In a tweet, he said, “I strongly condemn the comments made by the honorable Minister, Mrs. Konda Surekha. Film stars who stay away from politics should not be used in political criticism. Please respect other people’s privacy.”
This is not the first time Nagarjuna reacted on Konda Surekha’s comments, but this time he took legal action to defend his family’s reputation. Naga Chaitanya and Samantha publicly announced their separation in 2021, eventually finalizing their divorce.
