They’ve identified and blocked 18 OTT platforms that were found to be distributing content deemed obscene or vulgar, aiming to uphold regulatory standards.

Additionally, they’ve targeted 19 websites and removed several apps from major app stores. This broad approach includes not only the platforms themselves but also associated social media accounts, with 57 accounts being disabled for public access within India. These actions reflect a concerted effort by the government to ensure that online content aligns with established regulations and societal norms.

As these measures are implemented, there’s a growing interest among the public in understanding the implications for the future of online platforms and digital content. Many are wondering about the extent of government control in this domain and how it might evolve over time.
