Bhagyashree gets reminded of Salman from ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ on reality show

Veteran actress Bhagyashree went down memory lane and remembered her ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ days on the sets of the reality show ‘DID Super Moms’.

The performance by contestants Anila and Shweta on the title track of ‘Dangal’ left everyone stunned. In fact, the act somehow even reminded Bhagyashree of her co-star Salman Khan and made her reminisce about her shoot days with the Bollywood Superstar.

As Bhagyashree mentions, “I believe the concept that you depicted today is an issue that various women in our country go through every now and then. Women are generally told to take care of just their household chores after marriage and they are not encouraged to follow their dreams. But women like you prove that one can achieve anything one wants, with their hard work and determination. Anila, I must add that whenever I watch your performance, I always wonder how you do it. You must teach this to me!”

She added: “I noticed one more thing in your performance today, that you flawlessly imitated Salman Khan in the act.”

Released in 1989, ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ is a romantic musical film directed by Sooraj Barjatya. ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’ is considered one of the most iconic romantic films ever made and became a cult favorite of its songs, dialogues, and chemistry of Salman and Bhagyashree.

She added: “In fact, there was one jump that I found really interesting because that move was exactly like the scene from our film ‘Maine Pyar Kiya’, where Salman is exercising, and with him being upset with me during the sequence, he jumps right back up.”

“You did a similar move and that one movement reminded me of that scene from the film and made me nostalgic.”

Miss Universe Harnaaz Sandhu was bullied online after gaining weight

0

Miss Universe 2021 Harnaaz Sandhu has revealed that she gained weight since being crowned in December, but she doesn’t mind the change. However, it was the online bullying that got to her and she “broke down” so many times.

“Physically I have kind of grown, got more pounds, and increased my weight, which I am totally comfortable about right now,” the Indian-born beauty queen told People.

The 22-year-old added: “I was bullied for gaining weight. It was kind of uncomfortable and really surprising for me to see how people started having their opinions, which should not really matter.”

“It’s not about how you look, it’s about who you are from inside and how you treat people and what you believe in.”

She says that leading up to the competition, diet, and exercise was all about winning.

“I was really focused towards my goal and I was (not) thinking about my health,” Sandhu said.

“The whole time we were working out, doing so many activities, and just after winning, I had almost a month just to relax.”

“During that time, I actually didn’t work out, and I was just eating and just enjoying that time with my family,” the former Miss Universe says.

“I never realized that it would start showing on my body.”

Some of the online comments were very cruel.

“I definitely broke down so many times,” Sandhu admits. “Sometimes in the most unexpected times. I’m just about to go on stage or something and this whole thing comes to my mind. It’s really sad.”

Sandhu gained weight but also didn’t feel well, and a doctor diagnosed her with allergies she never knew she had.

“I have a gluten allergy,” Sandhu shares.

“I can’t have wheat or anything which contains wheat. Apart from that, I also have some soy allergy (and) coconut allergies.”

“I’m allergic to eggs and I kind of realized that when I came to New York,” the model and actress says.

“Because (eggs are considered) vegetarian and it’s known as non-vegetarian in India. It took me time to realize that the things which I was allergic to, I was still having. I didn’t know.”

Now that the 70th Miss Universe title holder has gotten a grasp on her health, her mindset has shifted.

“I’ve gone through that phase of my life where I used to feel bad about everything,” Sandhu says. “Now, I started loving everything. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to feel sad.”

Sandhu hopes sharing her story will help others who struggle with body image and self-love.

“We all are imperfect,” she says.

“We need to realize that there’s a point where we understand that we need to embrace our flaws and when you do that, you can conquer anything in this world.”

Cambodia’s famed Angkor Archeological Park attracted 83,854 foreign tourists in the first seven months of 2022, up 13.5 times compared to the same period last year, an official statement said on Thursday.

The ancient site made $3.37 million in revenue from ticket sales during the January-July period this year, also up 13 folds year-on-year, said the state-owned Angkor Enterprise’s statement.

In July alone, Angkor welcomed 23,871 foreigners, up 52 times compared to the same month last year, reports Xinhua news agency.

Located in the northwest Siem Reap province, the 401-square-km Angkor Archeological Park, inscribed on the World Heritage List of the Unesco in 1992, is the most popular tourist destination in the Southeast Asian country.

Tourism Minister Thong Khon said on Monday that foreigners, who come to live and work in Cambodia for two years or longer, will be allowed to visit the Angkor free of charge, saying that the move was to encourage more tourists to the site.

He said foreign tourists buying a one-day entrance ticket can visit Angkor for two days, while the three-day pass will be increased to five days of visit and the seven-day pass to 10 days of the visit.

The entrance fee for a one-day visit to the site is $37, a three-day visit costs $62, and a week-long visit costs $72.

Long Kosal, deputy director-general of the Apsara National Authority, said Angkor is predicted to attract more tourists in the coming months and years as the Covid-19 pandemic has waned.

“As our country has reopened its borders to all travellers without quarantine, I believe that more international tourists will spend their holidays at Angkor in the near future,” he told Xinhua.

During the pre-pandemic era, Angkor received up to 2.2 million international visitors in 2019, generating $99 million in revenue from ticket sales, according to Angkor Enterprise.
