Mohanbabu Garu, why Did You Do This?

T Subbarami Reddy is a well-known politician, industrialist, and philanthropist. He also produced the movie ‘Bhagavad Gita’ in 1993 in Sanskrit, that won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film. He is more seen at film events and celebrity’s functions than in the Parliament. Every now and then he comes up with an awards program, awarding many film celebrities. Many have ridiculed him in the past for the same.

T Subbarami Reddy (TSR) awarded, ‘Viswa Nata Sarvabhouma’ title to Dr. Mohan Babu during an event, organized by TSR himself. No one really knows why TSR has given the award to Mohanbabu. While people claim that, TSR doesn’t need any reason or a strong cause to present awards. He just presents them whenever he wants to, and to whomever, he wishes too.

The absurd behavior of TSR and Mohanbabu has come under fire. Today, the 18th of January marks the 22nd death anniversary of legendary actor-cum-politician, and former CM Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, or simple NTR. The recent title presented to Mohanbabu resembles the title, ‘Viswa Vikyatha Nata Sarvabhouma’ held by NTR.

Telugu Bullet feels that Mohan Babu who proclaims himself as an ardent devotee and fan of NTR should have rejected the title. Even in practical terms, Mohanbabu doesn’t deserve this title on any given day. Presenting Awards and Titles might be a strategic move from TSR. But he should realize that Telugu people are not fools to fall prey for such cheap things.

Power Star Pawan Kalyan starrer ‘Agnyaathavaasi’ which released on Jan 10th, bombed at the box office. After opening to poor reviews, the film’s collections had a 97% freefall, the highest in the Tollywood history, in seat occupancy in the US on its second day. Though the film remains as the biggest flop in recent times, given the budget, pre-release business and gross, the film manages to rake up some decent numbers.

The film has collected Rs. 59.7 crores as gross, and Rs. 39.15 crores as share in the Telugu states. The film amassed a total of Rs. 88.7 crores as gross, and Rs. 54.95 crores as share worldwide. Allotment of extra shows, increase in ticket prices and the US premier collections helped the movie to rake these numbers.

Another film released for 2018 Sankranti was Balakrishna’s ‘Jai Simha’. The film released on January 12th. The movie received a mixed to negative review upon release. But luckily, due to the complete failure of Agnyaathavaasi, Jai Simha managed to have a decent run and emerged as an ‘average’ grosser.

The movie raked up Rs. 23.93 crores worldwide, and Rs. 19.7 crores in the Telugu states. With no films at the box-office until January 26th, Jai Simha can end up with Rs. 21.5 crores in the Telugu states. The movie’s distributors are already in safe position and are likely to earn scrapings towards its final run.

The film went on to break all the existing Tollywood box-office records (excluding Baahubali records). Megastar Chiranjeevi promised to his fans that, two of his films will be releasing every year from hereon.

Adding to this, director Surender Reddy is now busy supervising the construction of a special set in a film studio in Hyderabad. The second schedule of the film will begin on 20thFebruary and will continue for 25-30 days, without any break. Post that, a month’s break will be taken.

IT Raids on Balakrishna Film!

Celebrating this Sankranti, Pawan Kalyan’s Agnyaathavaasi and Balakrishna’s Jai Simha released on 10th January and 12th January respectively. After Agnyaathavasi shocked everyone by turning out to be a disaster at the box office, everyone assumed that ‘Jai Simha’ would be a roaring success, cashing on the former film’s failure. Even Balakrishna’s ‘Jai Simha’ failed to roar at the box-office.

Given the family sentiment drama and typical Balakrishna dialogues, the film is trying to make some profits at the box-office. With no films until 26th of January, Agnyaathavaasi and Jai Simha can manage to rake up few more collections.

Despite such a disappointing failure, Jai Simha produced, C Kalyan is now being chased by the IT sleuths. The IT officials reportedly issued a legal notice, asking C Kalyan to file the expenditure for ‘Jai Simha’. After the producer failed to provide the respective details, the IT sleuths cracked-down C Kalyan’s office. They recovered few important documents, said sources.

It is yet-to-be-known the nature of the documents collected from the producer’s office. All the movies produced by C Kalyan so far failed to achieve commercial success.

After the stupendous success of Baahubali franchise, the Indian filmmakers believe that there is a great market for mythological and historical films. Baahubali kept the cash registers at the box-office ringing for over 20 – 25 days across the nation. Irrespective of the language and location, the movie emerged as the highest grosser in Indian film history.

Figuring out the budget and collections of the movie, the filmmakers are moving towards historical films. Interestingly, many subjects (scripts) are ready in the form of Hindu mythological and historical books. Taking inspiration from them, two movies are on the way.

It is learnt that Balakrishna will soon come up with a new date for the teaser’s launch.

Is Ram Gopal Varma’s ‘God, Sex and Truth’ also a copy?

Posted [relativedate] at [relativetime time_format=”H:i”]

Ram Gopal Varma is a synonym for controversies and rumors, both in Tollywood and Bollywood film industry. The director has touched the pinnacle and saw the deepest lows in his career. His films, his posts, and even his comments create ripples in the film industries. Ram Gopal Varma himself stated that he usually takes inspiration from Hollywood movies for his films, and often change the screenplay and script, to suit our Indian audience.

The director went quiet after the launch of ‘Kadapa’ trailer. But he came back with a bang with his upcoming film (or web series) ‘God, Sex, and Truth’. Mia Malkova will be seen in the lead role. The movie’s trailer shocked everyone, given its content. Though RGV was criticized heavily, he was equally praised for film’s his bold and distinctive theme.

Shockingly, RGV once again under the line of fire. It is being heard that even ‘GST’ isn’t an original work.

An individual named P Jaya Kumar claimed that ‘God, Truth and Sex’ is a blind carbon copy of his work. He said, ‘I sent RGV my script for his review and comments. But after seeing GST trailer, I realized that it is a blind carbon copy of the script I sent to him. Everything uttered by Mia Malkova is lifted from my work’.

RGV is yet to react on P Jaya Kumar’s claim. Moreover, Jaya Kumar is not ready for any sort of off-the-court settlement. He is determined to pursue legal action against RGV.

Mahindra Chairman Tweets on Balakrishna’s Bolero Scene in Jai Simha

Posted [relativedate] at [relativetime time_format=”H:i”]

Nandamuri Balakrishna’s films are not only known for intense dialogues, but also for high-octane action scenes. In the past, Balakrishna did go overboard by driving in the face of a near-vertical hill and sending a train backwards with a mere stare. These scenes might have wooed film audience at that time, but not anymore these days. Instead, he became thebutt of jokes in recent times for acting in such sequences. After a Twitterati shared the video of Bolero Scene in Jai Simha on Anand Mahindra, (Chairman, Mahindra Industries) Twitter account, it caught his attention.

Ananda Mahindra rather replied in a hilarious manner on the sharedvideo (Bolero Scene in Jai Simha). His tweet read:

‘Haha. Now all our service workshops won’t need any hydraulic lifts anymore to do Bolero check-ups!!’

The tweet was shared and liked by over 1000 Twitterati in a short while. Anand Mahindra’s tweet on Balakrishna was in response to the Bolero Scene in Jai Simha, where Balayya lifts the Mahindra Bolero vehicle one-handedly with ease.Jai Simha is having a good run at the Telugu box-office, despite mixed reviews. The film is directed by KS Ravikumar.
