Manam holds a timeless place in the hearts of the Akkineni family and fans alike, as it brought together three generations of the family on screen. Recently, Nagarjuna opened up about one of the most emotional memories tied to the film — fulfilling his father Akkineni Nageswara Rao’s (ANR) final wish.
In the inaugural episode of Jagapathi Babu’s talk show Jayammu Nischayammura With Jagapathi, Nagarjuna revealed that ANR, despite battling cancer, insisted on dubbing his voice for Manam. “Dad warned me that he wouldn’t let anyone else dub for him. Even during his final days, he was determined to do it himself. Eventually, he completed the dubbing from his bed at home,” Nagarjuna recalled emotionally.
He further added, “Manam was a special film because it featured our entire family together. I had sleepless nights worrying about it, but after dubbing, Dad watched the film and appreciated it. That was his final blessing to us through cinema.”
On the work front, Nagarjuna was last seen as the antagonist in Lokesh Kanagaraj’s action thriller Coolie, starring Rajinikanth.
