Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president N Chandrababu Naidu expressed pride for the Telugu community following Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s announcement on Friday that former Prime Minister late PV Narasimha Rao would be conferred with the Bharat Ratna.
In a social media post, Naidu hailed the decision, stating, “Proud moment for all Telugus across the globe as son of the soil, former Prime Minister Sri PV Narasimha Rao Garu has been honoured with the much-deserving Bharat Ratna.”
He further praised Narasimha Rao as an eminent scholar, leader, economist, writer, statesman, polyglot, and humanist, crediting his visionary leadership and pioneering economic reforms for steering India through tough times and placing the nation on the path to global greatness.
Former Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao, a veteran Congress leader, was announced as the recipient of the Bharat Ratna, along with late Chaudhary Charan Singh, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Modi highlighted Rao’s extensive service to India in various capacities and his instrumental role in advancing the nation economically.
PM Modi also lauded Chaudhary Charan Singh’s dedication to farmers and commitment to democracy during the Emergency, stating that honoring him with the Bharat Ratna is a testament to his inspiring legacy.
