Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra 2 continues to make headlines as director Ayan Mukerji looks for the right studio partner to take the ambitious sequel forward. The project has reportedly gone through discussions with several major production houses, but none of the proposed collaborations have materialized so far.

Ayan Mukerji had previously held talks with Jio Studios, but the discussions eventually did not work out. Before that, Dharma Productions and Yash Raj Films were also reportedly considered as potential partners for the sequel.

Now, an interesting development has emerged regarding the project’s search for a studio. According to an exclusive report by Bollywood Hungama, filmmaker and producer Namit Malhotra is reportedly in advanced discussions to come on board as a studio partner for Brahmastra 2.

The potential collaboration makes sense considering Namit Malhotra’s association with large-scale visual effects projects. His company, Prime Focus, was among the production partners on the first installment, Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva, which was known for its extensive use of VFX.

Prime Focus has also been involved in major international and Indian projects, with its expertise in visual effects continuing to expand through ambitious productions such as Ramayana. Since the Brahmastra franchise is heavily dependent on visual effects and large-scale world-building, Malhotra’s involvement could be a natural fit for the sequel.

However, the collaboration is yet to be finalized. The report suggests that discussions are currently at an advanced stage, but an official announcement will be made only once the terms are finalized.

Brahmastra 2 is expected to expand the mythology and cinematic universe established in the first film, with Ranbir Kapoor returning as Shiva. Ayan Mukerji has been working on the script and pre-production for the ambitious sequel.

With the search for a studio partner continuing, the possible involvement of Namit Malhotra has added another interesting development to the much-awaited project. Fans will now be keenly waiting for official confirmation and further updates on the film’s production timeline.
