Bigg Boss Season 1 (Telugu) became a big hit among Telugu audience, thanks to the presence of Jr NTR as the host. Along with Jr NTR, the promotions of the show played a key part in its success. Summing up with Jr NTR’s remuneration, promotional costs, and show expenses, Bigg Boss Season 1 reportedly coasted Rs 50 crores according to few online portals.
With ‘Natural Star’ Nani replacing Jr NTR for the Bigg Boss Season 2, the cost of the show is likely to come down. Along with it, given is massive popularity and success among the Telugu audience, the makers are likely to trim down the promotions.
Insider sources reported that Nani is charging Rs 8 crores to host the show. It is still unclear whether Nani will appear only on weekends (like Jr NTR), or appear even during a weekday or two. Given Nani’s star image, and his back-to-back hits, the makers feel that Bigg Boss 2 (Telugu) will become a bigger hit. The expenses for hosting season 2 are expected to cost anywhere between Rs 30 crores – Rs 35 crores. This 30% to 40% cheaper, than Bigg Boss Season 1.
