Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra advanced to the finals of the World Athletics Championships on Friday with a remarkable throw of 88.77 meters in the men’s Javelin Throw event. His exceptional performance not only secured his place in the finals but also earned him a spot in the 2024 Paris Olympics. This achievement was Chopra’s best performance of the season and the fourth best in his career.
Neeraj Chopra’s outstanding throw not only secured his place in the World Athletics Championships finals but also met the qualification standard for the 2024 Paris Olympics, which requires a minimum distance of 85.50 meters. Interestingly, among the participants, only Germany’s Julian Webber managed to throw the javelin beyond 80 meters in the first round.
