Bishnoi denied any links
NIA also questioned Bishnoi about the weapons used in the murder, which suggests that the agency is actively investigating the case and trying to gather evidence. It is not uncommon for law enforcement agencies to question multiple individuals and gather information from various sources in their investigations. However, it is important to remember that allegations and accusations are not proof of guilt, and all individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
According to the NIA source, the killers used a Turkey-made Zigana pistol to carry out the murder of Atiq and Ashraf, which was also the same weapon used in the killing of Punjabi singer Siddhu Singh Moosewala. As a result, they interrogated Bishnoi to investigate his possible involvement in the Atiq-Ashraf murder case, but Bishnoi denied any links.
The source also mentioned that gangster Sundar Bhati has connections with Bishnoi, and they are exploring this angle in their investigation as well. In the past, the NIA had registered three separate FIRs (FIR no 37, 38, 39). FIR no 37 pertains to Khalistani supporters based abroad who were allegedly conspiring to wage war against India and create unrest in the country. FIR no 38 was registered against the Bambaiya Gang, with Neeraj Bawana, Kaushal Chaudhary, and others named as accused.
FIR no 39 was filed against Lawrence Bishnoi, Kala Jathedi, Kala Rana, and their aides. Recently, Bishnoi was brought before an NIA court in connection with FIR no 37, and the agency had also previously arrested one Deepak, who was in touch with Bishnoi. NIA sources claim that the gangsters have formed two ‘Mahagathbandhans’ to facilitate their criminal activities across India.
In Neeraj Bawana’s Mahagathbandhan (Group A), the members include Saurabh alias Gaurav, Suvegh Singh alias Sibbu, Subham Baliyan, Rakesh alias Raka, Irfan alias Chhenu, Ravi Gangwal, Rohit Chaudhary, and Davinder Bambiha Gang. In Bishnoi’s Gathbandhan (Group B), the members include Sandeep alias Kala Jathedi, Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu, Rohit Moi, Deepak Boxer, Prince Tewtia, Rajesh Bawania, and Ashok Pradhan.
These two groups have caused chaos in various states and have been involved in gang wars. However, the sources also claim that gangsters operating in Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, and Rajasthan are afraid of the Uttar Pradesh Police and are not willing to carry out criminal activities in the state.
