OnePlus launches Android TV at Rs 69,900 onwards: What buyers need to know

The OnePlus TV is finally here. And like OnePlus phones, the new TV range also aims to offer a premium experience. The company has made it clear that good things don’t come cheap and for a premium design, sound and viewing experience, buyers will have to spend a reasonable amount. The new OnePlus TV range only comes in one size option– 55-inch. There is smart connectivity options as well that makes it easy to use the OnePlus TV and phone together. Both the TVs will be available from September 28 on Amazon India and OnePlus store websites. It will also be available in retail stores. Here is everything you need to you.

There are two variants of the OnePlus TV– OnePlus 55Q1 and OnePlus 55Q1 Pro. The OnePlus TV 55Q1 is priced at Rs 69,900 while the Pro variant costs Rs 99,900.

Only the Pro variant offers an 8-speaker-unit sliding soundbar with four full- range speakers, two tweeters, and two woofers. There is no sliding soundbar in the standard model–OnePlus 55Q1. The 2.1 channel speaker system has 50-watt output with Dolby Atmos support.

The OnePlus 55Q1 model, on the other hand, offers a 4-speaker-unit standard soundbar with a sound output of 50W.

The OnePlus Dock (or circular base stand) comes bundled with the OnePlus TV 55 Q1 Pro model only. The stand needs to be purchased separately for the standard variant.

Both models feature a 55-inch QLED panel with Gamma Color Magic processing engine offering MEMC and De-Contour. With High Dynamic Contrast, the TV models support Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

As far as the design of the OnePlus TVs is concerned, it is nearly bezel-less (95% screen-to-body ratio) and comes with Carbon Fiber Pattern back cover.

Netflix will not work on OnePlus TVs natively. OnePlus is expected to release a software update to offer Netflix support at a later date.

The OnePlus TV comes with a remote with a Type-C charging port. While there are minimal buttons, OnePlus has added a dedicated button for Amazon Prime Videos.

The connectivity ports include 1 AV IN, 1 optical, 1 Ethernet, 4 HDMI, 1 USB 2.0, 1 USB 3.0 and 1 RF port.

The TV offers OnePlus TypeSync, Quick App Switch, Smart Volume Control, Wi-Fi Sharing, Screenshot Trackpad Control, Bluetooth Stereo and OxygenPlay.
