Deepika Padukone’sPadmaavat (or Padmavathi) opened to good reviews. Though the film’s initial release was stalled by controversies and protests, director Sanjay Leela Bhansali showed the character when it was most required. Given the protests across various parts of the nation, Padmaavat (Padmavathi) collected Rs. 17.5 Crores on its first day and Rs. 4.25 crores for premiers.
The number of screens exhibiting the film increased, with the protection from local police, especially in the northern parts of India. After a decent first day, Padmaavat collections jumped to a whopping 32 crores on its second day. The film collected Rs. 32 crores on its second take, taking Padmaavat Collections to Rs. 56 crores in the first two days.
The film saw almost houseful collections with people coming out of their homes and marching towards the theatres. The success story of the film, amid high tensions, and violent protests are an example of bravery and faith in our Indian constituent. It also exposes the backing of political parties to the fringe groups.
Trade experts believe that Padmaavat collections will see an uptrend in the coming few days. With no movies in the race until next week, Padmaavat collations can shoot up to Rs. 300 crores very soon.
