Pak Vs Sl : Wet outfield consumes morning session

Date:

What chance does this Test match have when – without rain or bad light – there’s still no play possible? The culprit this time was a wet outfield from all the overnight rain, as it wiped out the morning session on Day 3 in its entirety.

Nothing changed in the backdrop either, with gloomy skies dawning on Rawalpindi on Friday (December 13). And while there was no rain coming down, there were already significant puddles of water over the covers with the groundstaff hard at work, difficult as it was in the cold of winter. Eventually, it began paying off and the covers were starting to be peeled away before Friday’s scheduled hour-long lunch break arrived.

All in all, though, it’s quickly getting to a point where weather leaves only one possible outcome for this match. If that point hasn’t been crossed already, that is.

Brief Scores: Sri Lanka 263 for 6 (de Silva 72*,Karunaratne 59; Afridi 2/47) vs Pakistan
