Paris to switch off advertising screens earlier in public spaces

To save electricity energy to handle the energy problem, the Paris city council voted to switch-off digital display advertising on the roadside and public areas.

The action has been presented by the French Green Party at the city council, said Xinhua news agency.

“Online digital display boards are nearly 9000 in France and around 3,000 of them are in windows of the city of Paris,” said the president of the Green Party, Fatoumata Kone, at the city council.

The capital French has been switching off the display screens since September 23, even in the Eiffel Tower and Paris City Hall, near locations of the main city in order to save energy.
