Picnic Trip Landed Them In Graveyard

A Picnic trip by four engineering students of a private college at Bhogapuram in West Godavari district was found them dead in a tank near the village. According to the police, the incident happened on Saturday but only came to light on Sunday.
As per the Eluru superintendent of Police (DSP) K. Eswara Rao, the four students- K.Harikrishnam Raju, 21, of Kothavuru, G.Vijaya Sankar, 21, of Chintalapudi village, A.S.K. Parasuram, 21, of Kothuru village and Kota Sai, 19, of Patachintalapudi village, went to Goa Gardens, near Vatluru tank in Bhogapuram.
Initially, three of them stepped into the tank for a dip. They lost their footing and went down in the water and then the fourth student Kota Sai made an attempt to help them out drowned in the lake. Later the victim’s bags, clothes and identity cards were collected from the site in the garden. As per police investigations, they are suspecting the victims might have consumed liquor before going into the lake.
DSP Eswara Rao said that a man from the village who went to the tank for nature’s call on Sunday morning observed some footwear and clothes on the banks and informed the police. The police found bags containing college books, identity cards, lunch boxes, liquor bottles and few other items near the spot.
