PKL Season 10 Auction: 3 Players Exceed ₹2 Cr Mark:

The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) Season 10 Player Auction took place in Mumbai on October 9-10, 2023, and was conducted successfully by Mashal Sports. Pawan Sehrawat, who was signed by the Telugu Titans, emerged as the highest-priced acquisition during the two-day event. A total of 118 players were purchased by the 12 franchises over the course of the auction.

In Category C, Amirmohammad Zafardanesh secured the title of the most expensive player in this year’s Player Auction, having been acquired by U Mumba for INR 68 lakh. Additionally, Zafardanesh’s compatriot, Amirhossein Bastami, was bought by the Tamil Thalaivas for INR 30 lakh.

Category D players also secured substantial deals. Nitin Kumar became the priciest player in Category D after being picked up by the Bengal Warriors for INR 32.2 lakh. Furthermore, Masanamuthu Lakshnanan found a spot on the Tamil Thalaivas roster for INR 31.6 lakh, while Ankit was acquired by the Patna Pirates for INR 31.5 lakh.

Commenting on behalf of Mr. Anupam Goswami, Head of Sports Leagues at Mashal Sports and League Commissioner of the Pro Kabaddi League, it was noted, “I applaud all the PKL stakeholders and the Mashal team for yet another exceptional PKL Player Auction.

After the remarkable bids for star players in categories A and B on the first day, we also witnessed remarkable bids for Category D on the second day. The trust that PKL teams have in the league’s overall talent pool is truly remarkable. It also underscores the ongoing success of our league in providing outstanding opportunities for kabaddi athletes.”

Pawan Sehrawat, the standout raider of the Player Auction, expressed his thoughts on being acquired by the Telugu Titans for an unprecedented INR 2.6 Crores, stating, “I have a responsibility towards the team. When a franchise invests such a substantial amount in a player, they expect that player to lead the team to a PKL title. I am fully committed to fulfilling my responsibilities for the Telugu Titans.”

Fazel Atrachali, the most expensive defender in PKL history, shared his enthusiasm about joining the Gujarat Giants, saying, “I am extremely pleased to be a part of the Gujarat Giants. They are a highly competent team, and I previously played with them in Season 5. They understand how to take care of their players, and I have a very positive outlook on this move.”
