Popular actress Pooja Hegde has kickstarted the promotions for her much-awaited film Retro, starring Tamil superstar Suriya. Directed by Karthik Subbaraj, the movie blends romance and action and is all set for a grand release on May 1, 2025. As part of the promotional tour, the actress shared her thoughts on social media vs real-life experiences in a candid interview.
Speaking about the disconnect between online buzz and reality, Pooja Hegde stated, “Social media and real life are completely different worlds. When I visit places like Hyderabad or Tirumala, I meet real people, and those interactions mean more to me.” She added that many online trolls are faceless, without profile pictures or posts, yet their words can still hurt.
Reflecting on her digital presence, Pooja continued, “Even though I have nearly 30 million followers on Instagram, that doesn’t translate to 30 million ticket sales. At the same time, there are actors with just 5 million followers who are massive stars at the box office.”
Her comments have sparked conversations around the pressure celebrities face online and the importance of real-world fan support. As excitement builds for Pooja Hegde upcoming movie, Retro, fans are looking forward to seeing her in a powerful new role opposite Suriya.
