In an industry where top stars often avoid long-term commitments to any one production house, Prabhas surprised many by signing a three-film deal with Hombale Films, the production banner behind Salaar. But why did the reclusive superstar make such an unusual move?
Known for being an introvert and keeping his circle close, Prabhas recently opened up in an interview, revealing his deep trust and admiration for Hombale Films’ head, Vijay Kiragandur. Despite the industry’s norm of collaborating with multiple banners to increase market value and remuneration, Prabhas chose to work back-to-back with this Karnataka-based production house. The reason? Uncompromising quality and a personal connection.
Prabhas praised Vijay Kiragandur as grounded, humble, and someone who values relationships over business calculations. “I felt at home with him right from our first film, Salaar. He stays close to his childhood friends and doesn’t go out much—just like me,” the actor shared.
He also recalled an incident from the KGF days when a massive set caught fire. Instead of panicking or cutting corners, Vijay told the team to forget the losses and focus only on quality. This gesture left a lasting impression on Prabhas, strengthening his resolve to continue the collaboration.
So far, the first part of Salaar has been completed under this deal. The second part is expected to go on floors next year, and a third film is in the pipeline, though details remain under wraps.
It’s rare to see such loyalty and trust in today’s commercial film landscape, and Prabhas’ decision highlights the value he places on integrity, relationships, and creative vision.
