Prashanth Neel, the director behind the blockbuster KGF franchise, has become a highly sought-after filmmaker in South Indian cinema. With his upcoming projects, KGF 3 and Salaar 2, Neel’s star power has soared to new heights.
Salaar, slated for release in December 2023, has been the subject of much anticipation and speculation. There have been rumors about whether the film would be connected to the KGF universe, but Prashanth Neel has put these rumors to rest.
Salaar: Different from KGF Story
In a recent interview, Neel revealed that Prabhas film is an independent story that stands on its own. He described the film as a tale of two friends who become bitter enemies. The movie will be released in two parts, much like KGF.
Neel further stated that there is no connection between KGF and Salaar. “They are two different worlds with different emotions,” he clarified. However, he assured that Salar will be just as action-packed and emotionally charged as KGF.
Regarding Salaar 2, Neel expressed his desire to move forward with the project but acknowledged that it depends on various logistical factors. He could not provide a definitive timeline for the film’s production.
Flim stars Prabhas, Prithviraj Sukumaran, and Shruti Haasan in lead roles. Hombale Films, the same company behind the KGF series, produce the film. Music for the film is composed by Ravi Basrur.
