The Ch-3 Pragyan Rover, ramped down from the Lander
The Pragyan rover from the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) was effectively placed on the Moon’s surface, following the successful gentle landing of the Chandrayaan-3 mission. This achievement occurred shortly after India’s third lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3, made history with the Vikram lander touching down on the lunar surface on Wednesday evening.
ISRO announced on X (formerly known as Twitter) that “The Ch-3 Rover descended from the Lander, marking India’s exploration on the lunar surface.” They also mentioned that additional mission updates would be provided in the near future. It shows a portion of Chandrayaan-3’s landing site. Seen also is a leg and its accompanying shadow. Chandrayaan-3 chose a relatively flat region on the lunar surface
