Jharkhand Chief Minister Soren to participate in their inquiry
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to appear today as part of an investigation into a money laundering case. However, sources suggest that Chief Minister Soren is likely to not attend the questioning today.
The Enforcement Directorate had set August 24 as the date for Jharkhand Chief Minister Soren to participate in their inquiry related to the alleged money laundering case. In preparation for the questioning, the agency has requested additional security forces from both the central and state police.
Responding to these developments, Congress spokesperson Rakesh Sinha remarked, “The Enforcement Directorate no longer appears to be an independent agency but rather seems to function as part of Amit Shah‘s management. We have been facing continuous harassment, so our only remaining option is to seek legal recourse through the courts.” Sinha went on to suggest that in the lead-up to the 2024 elections, the Enforcement Directorate might also initiate inquiries into BJP leaders.
