One of the highest-paid Bollywood actresses, Priyanka Chopra, has been named as one of the most influential global business leaders by Variety 500 for the second year in a row. Her name appears in the long list along with 11 other Indian celebrities: Salman Khan, Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor and others. This recognition by Variety 500 has added another feather to the hat of PeeCee. She took to Instagram to express her gratitude. She wrote on her Instagram account, “Big thanks to @variety for including me in your #Variety500 for the second year in a row!”
The Quantico star also stated how happy she was to see the name of her film production company, Purple Pebble Pictures, in the list published. “What makes this one extra special is the little name right above mine… @purplepebblepictures. Stories are at the heart of everything we do, regardless of genre or language, and it’s a wonderful feeling to know we’re on the right path,“ the Baywatch girl added.
From winning the Miss India Pageant in 2000 to representing India at International events, the 36-years-old global sensation has bagged a world of achievements in her career. She thanked her mother, and her business partner, Madhumalati, for their undying support in her post. She also stated that she has miles to go and is grateful for every step she has taken till now:
“This would not be possible without my team, and most importantly, my incredible partner and co-founder, Madhumalati. Feels like miles to go, but truly grateful for every step we take,” added Priyanka.”
The Desi Girl is currently shooting with actor Farhan Akhtar, for Shonali Bose’s movie, “The Sky is Pink”. Both of these multitalented artists will be playing the parents of a small girl suffering from a rare disorder. As per sources, she plans to tie the knot soon by the end of this year with American singer-actor, Nick Jonas.
Robert Iger, CEO of Walt Disney Company topped the list. He is followed by Patty Jenkins – Director, Producer, and Writer at Vicious Pictures – known for her inexpressible works like “Wonder Woman” and “Monster”. The Chairman of Wanda Media Group, Jianlin Wang, stands in the third position.
