Businessman, Pub Owner, and Others Surrender in Tollywood Drugs Case:
Businessman Kalahar Reddy, along with Surya, the proprietor of Snort pub, and another individual whose names were linked to the recent Tollywood drugs case, surrendered themselves to the TS Narcotics Bureau, which is actively investigating the matter. Initially, when the case came to light on September 15, law enforcement authorities had characterized these individuals as drug users who were evading arrest.
While the police were actively searching for them, the trio took legal action by seeking anticipatory bail from the High Court. The court, in granting them this relief, stipulated that they must voluntarily surrender to the police. Following the court’s directives, they turned themselves in on Tuesday.
Upon surrendering, the police formally recorded their actions and subsequently released them. However, they are expected to be summoned again for further questioning as part of the ongoing investigation, according to police officials.
During their brief questioning, law enforcement officials inquired about the individuals’ connections with the apprehended drug peddlers and whether they had engaged in face-to-face meetings with them. The individuals were also asked about their possible consumption of drugs. Additionally, the police confronted them with evidence from social media chats and call records. Despite acknowledging their long-standing acquaintance with each other, they denied any involvement in drug consumption.
It’s worth noting that actor Navdeep was also subjected to police questioning regarding the drugs case this past Saturday.
