Puneet Chandok will be in charge of Microsoft’s activities in India
On Tuesday, Microsoft announced the appointment of Puneet Chandok, a former senior executive from AWS, as the Corporate Vice President of Microsoft India and South Asia. He will take over the operational responsibilities from Anant Maheshwari starting on September 1.
Chandok will be leading the integration of Microsoft’s businesses across South Asia, including countries such as Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. His appointment aims to strengthen Microsoft’s presence in the region.
Ahmed Mazhari, President of Microsoft Asia, expressed confidence in Chandok’s ability to drive growth and leverage technology for a positive impact in the AI-driven future. He also acknowledged Anant Maheshwari’s role in setting the company on a growth trajectory.
Before joining Microsoft, Puneet Chandok held a leadership position at AWS, where he oversaw the company’s business in India and South Asia. During his tenure, he collaborated with various enterprises, digital businesses, startups, and SMBs, helping them adopt innovative technologies and reduce technical debt.
In response to his appointment, Puneet Chandok expressed enthusiasm about Microsoft’s mission, particularly in the context of India’s expanding digital public infrastructure. He looks forward to working with the One Microsoft team to turn this mission into reality.
