Qualcomm India has announced a collaboration with the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) to support eight women-founded technology startups in India. The selected startups will receive mentorship from industry leaders and participate in masterclasses on topics such as intellectual property and marketing.

The “Qualcomm Women Entrepreneurs India Network,” launched in 2020, has already empowered 25 early-stage women-led startups in the past two years. The program aims to support female innovators in STEM fields by providing them with resources and exposure to industry mentors and experts.

A public-private partnership with an independent governance

The collaboration will offer the selected startups increased visibility within the startup ecosystem through a curated demo day and opportunities to connect with government bodies, industry leaders, venture capitalists, investors, and other accelerators.

The Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) was initiated at NITI Aayog, the policy think tank of the Government of India, and now operates as a public-private partnership with an independent governance structure. The program aims to enhance the role of women in India’s startup ecosystem, recognizing their potential as value creators and contributors to the country’s innovation goals.
