Tollywood Party Turns Controversial: Racha Ravi Clears the Air
In a sensational turn of events, Telangana police raided a late-night party on June 10 at Tripura Resort, Chevella, located on the outskirts of Hyderabad. The raid was prompted by loud DJ music, which led locals to alert the police.
What was expected to be a private celebration for singer Mangli’s birthday turned into a controversy when foreign liquor and marijuana were allegedly seized. The event has since stirred widespread media attention, especially with Tollywood personalities reportedly in attendance.
Who Was Reportedly at the Party?
Initial reports claimed the presence of several prominent personalities from the Telugu entertainment industry, including:
-
Singer Mangli
-
Lyricist Kasarla Shyam
-
Bigg Boss & Big Face fame Divi
-
Jabardasth fame Racha Ravi
The police stated that around 50 individuals attended the event, including friends, family, and film industry members. However, Racha Ravi quickly took to social media to issue a clarification.
Racha Ravi’s Video Statement: “Please Understand”
In a selfie video posted online, comedian Racha Ravi denied any involvement in the party.
“I’m shocked to see my name associated with Mangli’s party. I wasn’t there. I’ve been working nonstop with no time even to see my family. Please don’t spread false rumors. I neither drink nor do I party. I am not that person.”
He emphasized his professional commitments and requested the public and media to stop dragging his name into the controversy.
What Happened at the Resort?
According to the Telangana police, the party was unauthorized, and no formal permissions were obtained for the event. Seized items reportedly included:
-
Foreign Liquor
-
Marijuana
Cases have been booked against the event organizer, Meghawat Dune, and his associates, Ramakrishna and Damodar Reddy. Authorities are currently reviewing CCTV footage and recording witness statements.
Mangli Responds to Allegations
Singer Mangli defended herself by stating the raid occurred solely due to noise complaints and denied the presence of drugs at the event. She added that permissions for such parties are typically granted online, and they were in the process of applying.
“No intoxicants were used at the party. It was just a sound issue,” she stated.
Still, the police remain firm on investigating the violations, especially in light of previous controversies involving Mangli and unauthorized gatherings.
