Rajinikanth–Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie Locks OTT Release Date
As reported earlier, Superstar Rajinikanth’s action-drama Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is all set for its digital debut. Prime Video, which acquired the post-theatrical streaming rights for a whopping price, has now officially confirmed that the film will begin streaming from September 11, 2025.
The movie will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, with the Hindi version arriving later, eight weeks after its theatrical debut, since it had a nationwide release in Hindi belts. Interestingly, Prime Video usually waits until closer to the date to announce premieres, but this early confirmation has come as a pleasant surprise for fans.
While Coolie took a thunderous opening at the box office, the mixed reviews and debates around Lokesh’s execution have kept discussions alive. It remains to be seen how audiences will receive the film on OTT.
The film features an ensemble cast with King Nagarjuna, Soubin Shahir, Shruti Haasan, Sathyaraj, Upendra, and Rachita Ram, while Aamir Khan and Pooja Hegde appear in cameos. Backed by Sun Pictures on a massive scale, the movie also boasts Anirudh Ravichander’s music, which has been one of its major highlights.
