The release of Game Changer has been a hot topic among Ram Charan’s fans, with the movie initially slated for a 20th December debut. However, rumors soon surfaced, suggesting the film might be pushed to Sankranti. To clear the air, producer Dil Raju recently confirmed that the Game Changer new release date is now set for 25th December.
While the Christmas release has its perks—like a festive opening, a long weekend, and New Year’s right around the corner—the film might face challenges after New Year’s Day. The period leading up to Sankranti, packed with other big releases, could make it tough for Game Changer to maintain its momentum at the box office.
Had the film stuck to its original Game Changer new release date of 20th December, it would have benefitted from an additional 5 days of screening. This would allow for a longer run during the holiday season, including Christmas, New Year’s Eve, and multiple weekends, which would have bolstered its performance. Another downside of the new 25th December release is that the second day falls on a Thursday, a regular working day, which might impact weekday collections. Given these factors, a 20th December release might have been the more strategic choice.
