Ranbir Kapoor has a packed lineup of high-profile projects, and the latest buzz suggests that the actor could move straight into Brahmastra 2 after completing his commitments to the Ramayana franchise.
Ranbir is currently busy shooting for Ramayana, the ambitious mythological epic directed by Nitesh Tiwari. The first part is scheduled to arrive during Diwali this year, while the second installment is expected to release next year. According to an exclusive report by Pinkvilla, Ranbir is planning to begin work on Brahmastra 2 soon after wrapping up Ramayana 2.
Director Ayan Mukerji is reportedly concentrating on the script and pre-production work for the highly anticipated sequel. The second chapter is said to be targeting an April 2027 production start, with the filmmaker working towards taking the story forward on a much larger scale.
Ranbir is expected to take on dual responsibilities within the narrative by portraying both Dev and Shiva in the sequel. Alia Bhatt is also expected to return as Isha, continuing the character’s journey from the first film.
Adding to the curiosity, the makers are reportedly considering Deepika Padukone for the role of Amurta. If the casting materializes, her inclusion would further raise expectations surrounding the ambitious fantasy franchise.
Meanwhile, Ranbir has several other major projects lined up. Along with the Ramayana films and Brahmastra 2, the actor is committed to Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love & War and the much-awaited Animal Park.
With multiple big-ticket projects in his pipeline, Ranbir Kapoor is set for an extremely busy phase over the next few years.
