Actress Rashmika Mandanna, now known as Rashmika Deverakonda, has taken a meaningful step towards supporting underprivileged families by launching Project Annapurna, a charitable initiative aimed at providing essential food supplies to 400 families for an entire year.
Through this initiative, the Ranabaali actress is extending assistance to families across eight locations in South India: Hyderabad, Mahabubnagar, Anantapur, Bengaluru, Kochi, Chennai, Kodagu and Vijayawada.
The food kits distributed under Project Annapurna include 75 kg of rice, 10 kg of whole wheat atta, 15 kg of mixed pulses and 10 litres of cooking oil. The supplies also include essential items such as ragi, spices and tea, helping beneficiaries meet their everyday food requirements.
Sharing the motivation behind her initiative, Rashmika spoke about the similarities between her real-life personality and Jayamma, the character she portrays in Ranabaali.
“A lot of you keep asking are there any similarities between Jayamma (her role in Ranabaali) and me and my answer is yes – and this is one of them.. this has always been me and this is also her.. and I would always keep doing things like this for all the love that you give me,” the actress said.
Her initiative has received appreciation from fans, with many welcoming her efforts to support families facing food insecurity. Project Annapurna highlights how public figures can use their influence to bring attention to meaningful social causes.
Meanwhile, Rashmika is preparing for the theatrical release of Ranabaali, which stars her husband, Vijay Deverakonda, in the lead role. The film is scheduled to arrive in cinemas tomorrow, adding to the excitement surrounding the actress’s current professional commitments.
With Project Annapurna, Rashmika has extended her work beyond cinema, focusing on a cause that directly addresses the essential needs of families across several South Indian communities.
