Rashmika Mandanna Set for Major Comeback in Bollywood with ‘Cocktail 2’ and ‘Thama’
Rashmika Mandanna’s entry into Bollywood has been a journey of ups and downs. While her powerful performance opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Animal and her role as the wife of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj in Chhaava (starring Vicky Kaushal) received critical acclaim, her other Hindi films—Goodbye, Mission Majnu, and Sikandar—did not fare as well at the box office.
Following the success of Animal and Chhaava, Rashmika found herself back in the limelight. However, her most recent film failed to meet expectations, prompting discussions online about her fluctuating Bollywood trajectory. Netizens noted that despite setbacks, she appears committed to making her mark in Hindi cinema with a fresh slate of projects.
According to industry sources, Rashmika will soon begin filming Cocktail 2, the sequel to the 2012 hit Cocktail. Produced by Dinesh Vijan and Luv Ranjan, the romantic comedy will feature her alongside Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon in lead roles, supported by a strong ensemble cast. The script, written by Luv Ranjan, promises a blend of humor, emotion, and vibrant storytelling. The film is expected to be shot across exotic locales in Europe and India, with a planned release in 2026.
In addition, Rashmika will star in Thama, a unique vampire-themed film with Ayushmann Khurrana. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and produced under the Maddock Films banner, the movie is slated for a Diwali 2025 release. This genre-blending project is anticipated to showcase a new side of Rashmika’s on-screen persona.
On the Telugu front, the Dear Comrade actress continues to balance her career with two prominent projects: Kubera, directed by Sekhar Kammula, and The Girlfriend, helmed by Rahul Ravindran.
With both Bollywood and Tollywood projects lined up, Rashmika Mandanna is poised to make a strong impact across industries in the coming years.
