Rashmika Mandanna is taking on another challenging role as she steps into the shoes of legendary Carnatic vocalist M.S. Subbulakshmi. The upcoming biopic, directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri, was launched in Chennai yesterday with a grand event.
The film has already created curiosity among audiences, particularly because of Rashmika’s transformation into the iconic singer. Many fans were hoping to get a glimpse of her look as M.S. Subbulakshmi at the launch event. However, the makers chose not to unveil her first look, leaving audiences waiting for an official reveal.
The decision came as a disappointment to some fans who were eagerly anticipating the first glimpse. The makers could reveal more details about Rashmika’s appearance in the coming days.
Titled M.S – A Legacy On Screen, the film is being mounted on a grand scale and is expected to explore the remarkable life and musical journey of M.S. Subbulakshmi. Taking on the role of such an iconic personality is a major responsibility, and Rashmika has expressed her commitment to giving her best to the character.
The actress has also shared her gratitude for receiving the opportunity to portray the legendary vocalist on screen. Her casting has added considerable interest to the project, while Gowtam Tinnanuri’s involvement has further raised expectations.
Anirudh Ravichander is composing the music for the biopic, adding another major name to the ambitious project. The film is backed by Geetha Arts, Rockline Entertainment, and Bunny Vas Works.
With production now underway, audiences will be closely watching the upcoming updates from the team, especially the much-awaited first look of Rashmika as M.S. Subbulakshmi.
