Aadhaar authentication transactions have climbed to 2.31 billion in March 2023, against 2.26 billion authentication transactions recorded in February 2023, according to IT Ministry data.
Also, this cards-enabled e-KYC rose by 16 percent as 21.47 million cards were updated successfully in March 2023.
While a majority of the authentications transaction numbers were carried out by using biometric fingerprints, it is followed by demographic and OTP authentications, official sources said.
Adoption of e-KYC has also significantly reduced customer acquisition costs of entities like financial institutions, telecom service providers, and others, they added.
The cumulative number of Unic Identity Card e-KYC transactions so far has gone past 14.7 billion till the end of March 2023.
Updated Aadhaars in March
During the month of March, more than 21.47 million Cards were updated following requests from the residents as against 16.8 million such updates in February 2023.

Sindhu advanced to the women’s singles pre-quarterfinals with a 21-15, 22-20 win over Chinese Taipei’s Wen Chi Hsu. The Indian took 46 minutes to wrap up the win over the Chinese Taipei shuttler.
In the first game, Sindhu trailed 11-14 but the world No. 11 Indian badminton player registered nine points in a row to turn the tables and took the lead.
In the second game, the 27-year-old Sindhu faced a tough fight from the Chinese Taipei shuttler early on but managed to race to an 11-7 lead at the break before sealing the issue. This was the first meeting between the two players.
On the other hand, former world championships silver medallist Srikanth progressed into the men’s singles pre-quarterfinals after beating Bahrain’s Adnan Ebrahim 21-13, 21-8. He will face world No. 5 Kodai Naraoka of Japan in the last 16.
