Meta is adding more Reels editing options to Facebook’s News Feed.
Meta, the parent company of Facebook, has announced updates that will introduce more Reels editing tools to the Facebook Feed, enabling users to create dynamic videos more easily. These tools aim to provide users with various options to express themselves through Reels or long-form videos.
The updates include additional clip editing tools such as video speed-up, reverse, and clip replacement. Enhanced audio features will allow users to mix appropriate sound into their videos by adding music, audio clips, recording voiceovers, and reducing unwanted noise. Furthermore, Meta is introducing the capability to upload high-dynamic range (HDR) videos from phones to Reels.
Meta has renamed the Facebook Watch feature to the Video tab, which will serve as a centralized hub for all video content on Facebook, including Reels, long-form videos, and live content. Users will be able to scroll vertically through a personalized feed that recommends different types of video content. The Video tab will also include horizontal-scroll reel sections that highlight recommended Reels, providing quick access to short-form video content.
The Video tab will soon appear as a dedicated tab in the shortcut bar, and a redesigned video Explore feature will be available to help users discover and explore popular video topics. By tapping the search icon in the Video tab, users can access Explore, which employs a combination of human curation and machine learning to select and surface popular topics and videos that are likely to be of interest.
Additionally, Facebook users will be able to view and leave comments on Instagram Reels recommended to them on Facebook without the need to switch between applications.
