Reopened Computer Center at Osmania University Welcomes Visitors:
The recently renovated Dr. Aziz A. Jamaluddin Computer Centre at Osmania University College of Arts and Social Sciences was officially inaugurated on Wednesday. The inauguration ceremony was led by Vice-Chancellor Prof. D. Ravinder, Registrar Prof. N. Lakshminarayana, and distinguished North American alumni, including Dr. Venkat Maroju, Dr. Ravi Prakash Mayreddy, and Dr. Raydas Manthena.
Originally established in 2008 with an initial donation of 45 computers by Dr. Jamaluddin from the United States, the center has now received an additional contribution of 10 computers with internet access, along with substantial support for its renovation, from these North American alumni.
During the event, the alumni shared insights into their personal journeys and underscored the significance of giving back to their alma mater. Prof. Ravinder expressed his gratitude to these proactive alumni who consistently contribute to the institution. He emphasized the importance of establishing efficient systems to harness alumni contributions and revealed plans for Osmania University to engage with its US-based alumni, extending invitations for future programs.
University leaders also took the opportunity to discuss their experiences and highlight ongoing resource requirements. The dedicated alumni have pledged to facilitate connections between intellectual resources and faculty needs, continuously enhancing the university’s capabilities.
