Concerned about the Public Service Commission and the Home Department scheduling competitive exams at the same time, Priyank Kharge, the district head of Kalaburagi, and the Minister of IT-BT, Rural Development, and Panchayat Raj have urged the Chief Minister to think about rescheduling these exams on different dates.
Exams have been announced by the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) to fill 47 roles as cooperative society inspectors and 242 accounts assistants for the State Audit and Accounts Department. The Home Department has scheduled an examination to fill 454 civil constable positions for the same day.
“Our state’s youth dedicate time and energy to studying for these exams in order to pursue careers in government. Confusion is inevitable when competitive exams are held on the same day for three different positions. In the letter to the Chief Minister, Kharge wrote, “I have been approached by several candidates who fervently request a reconsideration of the examination dates.”
“Over the last five years, governmental recruitments have seen a significant slowdown, leaving thousands of eager candidates struggling with the disheartening reality of unfulfilled professional aspirations due to a mismatch between qualifications and available opportunities,” he stated.
Minister Kharge has requested that the Chief Minister reschedule the examination for a new date in light of this.
