Rishab Shetty Performs Dangerous Stunts for Kantara: Chapter 1 Climax; Biggest War Sequence in Indian Cinema
Audiences still vividly remember the chilling climax performance of Rishab Shetty in Kantara, where his riveting act alongside the iconic Varaha Roopam song left fans in a trance. Now, the National Award-winning actor-director is gearing up to recreate that magic on an even grander scale in the prequel, Kantara: Chapter 1.
Reports reveal that Rishab Shetty has performed dangerous stunts without a body double for the film’s climax. His dedication and passion left action choreographer Arjun Raj and the crew awestruck. Praising Rishab’s commitment, Arjun Raj said:
“I have worked with many actors, but Rishab doesn’t just say, ‘I will try my best.’ He says, ‘I will do it as long as I am alive.’ This spirit changes everything.”
To pull off this breathtaking sequence, Rishab underwent intensive training in Kalaripayattu, sword fighting, and horse riding.
The makers have created one of the largest war sequences ever filmed in Indian cinema, featuring over 500 trained fighters and 3,000 extras, shot over 50 days on a massive 25-acre city set.
Produced by Vijay Kiragandur under the Hombale Films banner, Kantara: Chapter 1 is slated for a grand worldwide release on October 2, 2025, in Kannada, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Bengali, and English.
