Ritika Nayak: ‘I Was Hurt for Not Being Part of Promotions… But It Turned Out to Be the Right Decision’

Young actress Ritika Nayak has shared an emotional memory from the early days of her Tollywood career. Speaking in a recent interview, she revealed that she felt deeply hurt after not being included in the promotions of her debut Telugu film, Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam.

However, she also admitted that the makers’ decision eventually worked in her favour, as her surprise appearance became one of the film’s biggest talking points.

Kept Secret Until the Film’s Release

Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam, starring Vishwak Sen and Rukshar Dhillon, was promoted without revealing that Ritika Nayak played a key role.

Throughout the promotional campaign, audiences believed Rukshar Dhillon was the film’s only female lead. Ritika’s character was intentionally kept under wraps to preserve an important twist in the story.

Initially introduced as the heroine’s younger sister, her character gradually becomes central to the narrative, surprising audiences by the film’s climax.

‘I Felt Hurt at That Time’

Recalling the experience, Ritika said she was disappointed that she was not invited to participate in the promotional events of her first Telugu film.

She revealed that she even shared her feelings with a close friend, expressing how painful it was to miss out on such an important phase of her debut.

For any newcomer, being part of promotions is considered a major opportunity to connect with audiences, making the experience emotionally difficult for her.

The Surprise Strategy Paid Off

Despite her initial disappointment, Ritika acknowledged that the makers’ strategy ultimately proved successful.

After the film’s release, audiences appreciated her performance, and her character received widespread praise. She said the positive response made her realize why the team had chosen to keep her role a secret.

According to Ritika, the experience taught her an important lesson—that patience can sometimes lead to even better opportunities.

Busy with New Projects

After taking a brief break following Ashoka Vanamlo Arjuna Kalyanam, Ritika Nayak is once again busy with multiple projects.

She was recently seen in Mirai alongside Teja Sajja, and is also part of Korean Kanakaraju, starring Varun Tej, which is scheduled for release on August 7.
