Nithiin’s latest action-comedy entertainer Robinhood is all set for its digital debut. The Robinhood OTT release has been quietly confirmed for May 10th on ZEE5, although the platform hasn’t made an official announcement on its social media. The streaming date was spotted on ZEE5’s upcoming releases catalogue.
Directed by Venky Kudumula, Robinhood marked his second collaboration with Nithiin after their hit film Bheeshma. While expectations were decent at first, the trailer and songs didn’t generate the buzz the makers had hoped for. Despite aggressive promotions, the movie had a dull opening and failed to impress at the box office due to poor word of mouth.
The film stars Sreeleela as the female lead—her second outing with Nithiin after Extraordinary Man. The supporting cast includes Devdatta Nage, Rajendra Prasad, Vennela Kishore, Shine Tom Chacko, Aadukalam Naren, Mime Gopi, and Subhaleka Sudhakar. The music was composed by G.V. Prakash Kumar, and the film was bankrolled by Mythri Movie Makers.
Robinhood might not have worked theatrically, but its OTT release could offer a second chance to engage with the audience at home.
