Matthew Ebden and Rohan Bopanna made it to the second round.
Indian tennis player Rohan Bopanna and his Australian partner Matthew Ebden have advanced to the second round of the men’s doubles event at Wimbledon. Seeded sixth, they defeated the Argentine pair of Guillermo Duran and Tomas Etcheverry in a tough match that lasted over two hours.
Rohan Bopanna and Ebden, who have already won two doubles titles this year, will face the unseeded British pair of Jacob Fearnley and Johannus Monday in the next round. Bopanna is also participating in the mixed doubles event with Canada’s Gabriela Dabrowski. Meanwhile, Indian players Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni, as well as Jeevan Nedunchezhiyan and N. Sriram Balaji, will start their men’s doubles campaigns on Saturday. Unfortunately, there are no Indian players competing in the singles category at Wimbledon this year.
