From September 23 Sahasra Semiconductor will start manufacturing chips.
Sahasra Semiconductor, based in Rajasthan, is gearing up to commence commercial production of India’s first domestically manufactured memory chips in either September or early October, as stated by CEO Varun Manwani. This accomplishment will position Sahasra ahead of Micron as the first company to manufacture chips in India.
The company has established a semiconductor assembly, testing, and packaging facility in the Bhiwadi district. Initially, the company will package fundamental memory products such as MicroSD cards and chip-on-board modules. As its operations progress, It will expand into more advanced packaging processes, including internal memory chips.
Currently, The company is a participant in the Scheme for Promotion of Manufacturing of Electronic Components and Semiconductors (SPECS), which grants the company a 25% financial incentive on capital expenditures.
