Samantha is the next Lady superstar?

The Telugu film industry has seen the best of the beauties right from the past few decades. But very few of them attained the status of ‘lady superstar’. What does ‘lady superstar’ in the first place mean? In most of the cases, it is the hero who brings in large crowds to the theatres. But few heroines like Vijayashanti, Soundarya, and recently Anushka has the capability to draw crowds, despite the films being heroine-oriented.
Excluding Anushka, there is no other heroine was able to pull crowds to their, given her sheer screen-presence. Be it ‘Arundhati’ or the latest ‘Bhaagamathie’, Anushka stole the show. It looks like we have another competitor in the ‘lady superstar’ league.
It is the beautiful and gorgeous Akkineni Samantha, or simply Sam. But how? She doesn’t have the personality of Anushka, nor the royal looks. But still, Samantha is a class apart in her own league. Her choice of films in recent times is taking her close to the ‘lady superstar’ tag. Be it her role as ‘Jamuna’ in ‘Mahanati’, or the de-glam (in few shots) Ramalakshmi in ‘Rangasthalam’, Samantha is all set to steal the show at the box-office very soon. She is currently busy shooting for various big-budget projects both in Telugu and Tamil.
