SIIMA Awards 2023: Telugu Cinema Triumphs:
SIIMA Awards 2023 (South Indian International Movie Awards) celebrated the best talents and cinematic achievements across the South Indian film industries, including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada. The star-studded event, graced by renowned figures like Jr. NTR, Mrunal Thakur, Sreeleela, Rana Daggubati, Allu Arvind, and Pranitha Subhash, unfolded in Dubai from September 15 to September 16 at the iconic World Trade Centre.
The winners included Jr. NTR for Best Actor in a Leading Role for his exceptional performance in RRR (2022) and Sreeleela, recognized as the Best Actress in a Leading Role for her outstanding portrayal in Dhamaka (2022). The title of Best Film went to Sita Ramam (2022), a cinematic masterpiece that captivated audiences.
Acknowledging critical acclaim, Adivi Sesh received the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Critics) award, while Mrunal Thakur, acclaimed for her performance in Sita Ramam, earned the Best Actress in a Leading Role (Critics) title. Mrunal Thakur also claimed the honor of Best Debutant Actress.
Shruti Haasan was crowned the Flipkart Fashion Youth Icon for her style and versatility, while the Best Debutant Producers award was presented to Sharath and Anurag, the visionaries behind the impactful Major (2022). The Promising Newcomer award celebrated Bellamkonda Ganesh, a rising star with immense potential.
