OTT Shock: Salman Khan’s Sikandar Outshines Nani’s HIT 3 on Netflix Global Charts
OTT platforms continue to redefine success in the entertainment world, and the latest Netflix streaming data is proof.
In the past ten days, Netflix released three big films: Salman Khan’s Sikandar, Nani’s HIT: The Third Case, and Suriya’s Retro. Among them, Sikandar unexpectedly emerged as the top performer in terms of global OTT reach.
According to Netflix’s Top 10 global non-English films list (from May 26 to June 1, 2025), Sikandar secured the third spot, clocking 11.4 million streaming hours and 5.1 million views — outperforming HIT 3, which ranked fourth with 10.8 million hours and 4.2 million views.
The Surprise Factor
What makes this performance remarkable is that Sikandar had a below-average theatrical run and was released only in Hindi, whereas HIT 3 was a theatrical blockbuster led by Nani.
Despite the odds, Sikandar surged ahead digitally, underlining how streaming platforms can often yield different results than box office verdicts.
Timing Matters
It’s important to note that HIT 3 debuted on Netflix four days after Sikandar, and this data captures only two days of HIT 3‘s availability. Given the ongoing buzz, analysts expect HIT 3 to climb higher in the global charts in the coming days.
Retro Struggles to Keep Up
Meanwhile, Suriya’s Retro logged 6.9 million streaming hours and 2.5 million views, placing it seventh. This mirrors its modest theatrical performance, showing no major spike in OTT traction.
