Singer Mangli Booked After Ganja and Foreign Liquor Found at Birthday Party
Popular folk and playback singer Mangli has landed in legal trouble after her birthday bash at Tripura Resort in Chevella turned controversial. The Chevella police conducted a surprise raid on the venue last night following a tip-off and reportedly found foreign liquor and marijuana (ganja) being consumed at the event.
According to police reports, the party was held without prior permission, and alcohol was served illegally, violating excise regulations. One individual, identified as Damodar, was found consuming ganja and was taken into custody on the spot.
Police have filed a case against Mangli for hosting an unauthorized party and violating alcohol laws. The resort’s general manager has also been booked for allowing the event without the necessary clearances.
The party was attended by several industry celebrities, including singer Divi and lyricist Kasarla Shyam, who are now under police scrutiny. Notices are expected to be issued to the attendees as the investigation progresses.
Mangli, known for her hit songs like “Ramulo Ramula,” “Saaranga Dhariya,” and “Bullet Song,” has yet to issue a public statement regarding the incident.
