Bonmati opened the scoring early in the match, but Switzerland equalized with an own goal by Laia Codina. Alba Redondo restored Spain’s lead, and Bonmati scored her second goal to make it 3-1. Codina redeemed herself with a goal for Spain’s fourth before halftime, and Jennifer Hermoso added another goal in the second half.
