Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff have reportedly received show-cause notices from the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA) over their association with a Vimal Advertisement.
According to reports, the authorities have raised concerns that the advertisement indirectly promotes Vimal Pan Masala, a product whose sale and promotion are restricted in Maharashtra. The FDA has therefore sought explanations from the three actors regarding their involvement in the commercial.
The actors have reportedly been given 15 days to respond to the notices and clarify their positions. The development has sparked a fresh debate on celebrity endorsements, particularly when popular actors promote products that may be associated with health risks.
With Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff commanding a massive following across the country, the issue has drawn considerable attention on social media. Many users have questioned whether celebrities should endorse products that could potentially influence their young and impressionable fan base.
The matter is now awaiting the actors’ responses, which could provide further clarity on their roles in the advertisement and the action, if any, that authorities may take.
