SS Rajamouli Applauds Sekhar Kammula’s Conviction at Kuberaa Pre-Release Event
With just days to go until the release of Kuberaa, the anticipation reached a fever pitch at its grand pre-release event held at JRC Convention Centre, Hyderabad. The highlight of the evening was the presence of legendary director SS Rajamouli, who delivered a heartfelt and insightful speech about filmmaker Sekhar Kammula and the upcoming film.
“He Never Compromises”: Rajamouli on Sekhar Kammula
Praising the Kuberaa director, Rajamouli said,
“Sekhar Kammula is both humble and stubborn. Once he believes in something, he never compromises. That’s what I admire about him. We’re opposite in our filmmaking approaches—he sticks to his beliefs; I don’t.”
Rajamouli also expressed surprise at Kammula’s longevity in the industry:
“I thought he was my junior, but turns out he’s a year senior. What amazes me is, even after 25 years in the industry, he’s still the same—true to his ideals.”
Kuberaa’s Cast and Craft Earn High Praise
He continued his praise for the film’s setup:
“When I heard it’s Nagarjuna garu and Sekhar garu with a title like Kuberaa, I was instantly intrigued. Then came Dhanush—what a brilliant addition!”
Rajamouli complimented the film’s promotional material, saying the glimpse was smart and suspenseful, showing contrasting worlds between Nagarjuna’s rich character and Dhanush’s underprivileged one, without revealing much of the plot.

Kuberaa’s Ensemble Cast and Crew
Directed by Sekhar Kammula, Kuberaa stars Dhanush, Nagarjuna, and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles. The film also features Jim Sarbh, Dalip Tahil, and Sayaji Shinde in prominent roles. With music composed by Devi Sri Prasad (DSP) and production led by Suniel Narang and Pushkar Ram Mohan Rao, the socio-political thriller is set for a pan-India release on June 20, 2025.
