Stalin announced Rs. 3 L. compensation to the families of the deceased following the Madurai train fire.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has declared that the families of the nine passengers who tragically lost their lives in the train fire incident in Madurai will receive an ex-gratia payment of Rs 3 lakh each. Chief Minister Stalin has also ensured that the injured individuals being treated at the Government Rajaji Hospital in Madurai receive the best possible medical care.
Furthermore, Stalin appointed Tamil Nadu’s Commercial Taxes and Registration Minister, P. Moorthy, to personally go to Madurai and provide support to the affected families and the injured.
The Indian Railways has additionally announced compensation of Rs 10 lakh for the families of the deceased.
The incident involved a private coach attached to a passenger train carrying pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh, which caught fire early in the morning, resulting in the tragic loss of nine lives. Currently, twenty individuals are receiving treatment at the Government Rajaji Memorial Hospital, with four of them in serious condition.
