BJP leaders in Karnataka greet Modi while encircled by barricades.
The viral images of Karnataka BJP leaders enthusiastically welcoming and waving at Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to the ISRO headquarters in Bengaluru have drawn criticism from state Congress leaders. They have described this display as a form of subservience.
Former JD (S) MLC Ramesh Babu likened the behavior of BJP leaders to that of “street dogs” during the Prime Minister’s visit to ISRO. In the pictures, Karnataka BJP unit President Nalin Kumar Kateel, MLA Muniratna, former ministers, and MLAs like R. Ashoka, K. Gopalaiah, and N. Muniratna can be seen waving at Prime Minister Modi as he passed by en route to ISRO.
The Karnataka Congress Party commented that the BJP’s state President, sitting MLAs, and former ministers were made to stand on the streets, suggesting that this reflected a lack of self-esteem and self-respect. They further implied that such behavior indicated a high degree of subservience or servitude.
